Facebook announced the end of an important feature

Facebook, the website used for social communication, has announced the end of the live shopping feature.

Starting October 1, 2022, users will no longer be able to host any new or scheduled live shopping events on Facebook, Facebook said in a blog post .

The live stream video feature on Facebook was introduced publicly two years ago after several trials and tests.

While users will be able to use Facebook Live to broadcast live events, they will not be able to create product playlists or tag products in Facebook Live videos.

The feature was designed to give creators and brands a way to sell goods, connect with viewers and potentially new customers.

However, Facebook says that as users’ viewing habits are shifting towards shorter duration videos. We are also focusing on Reels on Facebook and Instagram.

It should be noted that Reels is a short-duration video product of Facebook’s parent company Meta. According to observers, Facebook is focusing more on Reels to compete with China’s video app ‘TikTok’.

If users want to reach and engage people through video, they can experiment with Reels and Reels Ads on Facebook and Instagram, the company says.

Facebook also said that if you want to save your old Live video, you can download it from your Page or Creator Studio.
