ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has termed the talk of offering cheap oil from Russia as baseless and said that reducing Imran Khan’s Rs 10 on petrol was a criminal decision.

The Information Minister said that 100 mobile units were set up in KP from June 6, 2022 and 500 more stationery flour units were set up immediately on June 9.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that after cheap flour scheme has started in the country, citizens can lodge a complaint against any utility store.
He said that in 2018, the price of flour was Rs 35 per kg and the price of one kg was Rs 150. In the last four years, ghee was sold at Rs 575 per kg.
The Information Minister said that the subsidy in the price of ghee started from June 9, the subsidy on ghee was increased to Rs 300 per kg, the subsidy of Rs 17 billion in the budget is allocated for cheap flour, ghee and sugar.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that all this is being done keeping in view the inflation, at present the government only wants to give relief to the people, these are practical steps that have been taken in a month and a half.
He further said that this is not a story of 10 million jobs and 5 million families, the present government is thinking of giving relief to the people in inflation and steps are being taken for economic stability.
The Federal Minister said that agricultural implements and seeds have been zero taxed and the government is taking steps only to provide relief to the people.
Referring to the previous government, he said that the economy grew by 6% in 2018, the inflation rate went up to 16% during the Imran Khan era, the agreement between Imran Khan and the IMF has been made public.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that Imran Khan is about to win the no-confidence motion. Imran Khan had made a criminal decision by reducing Rs 10 on petrol. Imran Khan made a deliberate decision and laid a landmine.
The Information Minister said that there was no opinion of ECC, Cabinet in Imran Khan’s decision, petrol is being sold cheaply in our country.
He termed the talk of offering cheap oil from Russia as baseless and said that there was no offer of cheap oil to the government of Pakistan. A statement has also been made by the Russian ambassador to Pakistan. We can do anything to provide relief to the people.
