Pakistan’s clean sweep in ODI series against West Indies
Pakistan outclassed West Indies in the third match in a row and made a clean sweep in the ODI series.
In the last match of the three-match ODI series played in Multan, the West Indies were bowled out for 216 in reply to the national team’s 269. Aqeel Hussain (60) and Casey Carty (33) were the standouts for West Indies.
For the national team, Shadab Khan took 4 wickets, Hassan Ali and Muhammad Nawaz took 2 wickets each.
Earlier, the national team scored 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 48 overs. Shadab Khan scored 86 and Imam-ul-Haq 62 runs. National cricket team captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first. Fakhr Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq started the innings for the national team. Both batsmen shared 85 runs for the first wicket. On this occasion, Fakhr Zaman scored 35 runs and was bowled by Puran.
After a brilliant opening partnership, Pakistan’s batting faltered and West Indies captain Puran cleared the middle order. Babar Azam returned to the pavilion for 88 runs with just one run scored. Imam-ul-Haq completed his half-century and then returned to the pavilion, after which Muhammad Haris and Rizwan were dismissed for a total score of 113 and 117 respectively.
After losing five wickets for 117 runs, Shadab Khan and Khushdal Shah took over and advanced the team’s score. The game was stopped due to strong wind in the 33rd over. When the game resumed, the match was restricted to 48 overs. ۔
Khushdal Shah and Shadab Khan shared 84 runs. Khushdal Shah was dismissed for 34 runs. Muhammad Nawaz also failed to score and returned to the pavilion after scoring eight runs. Increased the team’s score to 269.
West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran took four wickets, Chemo Paul two, Akil Hussain, Hayden Walsh and Jaden Sales one each.
