According to details, the water level in Jasad started rising after it reached the flood barrier left by India in the Ravi River.

Water flow in river Ravi at Jasad reached 40 thousand cusecs, yesterday India released 171 thousand cusecs of water from Ravi Ajh barrage. After receiving the information, the PDMA issued a flood alert in the river Ravi yesterday.

A flood channel left by India will reach Shahdara tonight, moderate to high flood expected in Ravi river during next 24 hours.

The flood is expected to affect Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Sahiwal and Faisalabad, while Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khanewal and Multan districts may also be affected.


On the other hand, in Balochistan, flood barriers were destroyed hundreds of people were affected in Kohlu, Bilawal Town, Kali Juma Khan and Oryani seeing devastating scenes everywhere. Yippee.

Traffic movement is still blocked due to landslides and bridge collapse. Due to the closure of the national highway, the land connection of Kohlu district including Sibi with the interior of Balochistan was interrupted.

Standing crops worth crores of rupees and dozens of communication roads were washed away by the flood tracks, the rescue operation for the flood victims is going on by the district administration and FS. According to Deputy Commissioner Qurban Magsi, more than 250 flood victims have been rescued so far.
